Gordon Wright, founder of 21st Century
Plastics Corporation, announced today the Potterville, Michigan plastic
injection molder has been sold to an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). The
selling shareholders have provided long term financing to facilitate the
transaction. Wright, 67, also announced his retirement from active participation
in the Company, assuming the title of Chairman. Management of the $12 million
(sales) company transitions to a trio of experienced 21st insiders.
Greg Dobie moves from Vice President to President, Craig Wright from Engineering
Manager to Vice President, and Kate Nowicki from Accountant to Controller.
Wright said “This is a winning transaction for everyone, and keeps all
stakeholders intact and working together toward the continuing success of 21st
Century Plastics Corporation.”
21st Century serves other manufacturers by
providing quality plastic parts for use in their products. The TS/ISO registered
Company is focused on providing engineered plastic molding solutions for office
furniture, cinema, auditorium, and stadium seating applications. Venues
utilizing 21st seating components include Yankee Stadium, Lucas Oil
Stadium, Spartan Stadium, and Michigan Stadium, among many others. Currently
seventy five people are employed in a modern 70,000 square foot plant built in
2005, housing sixteen molding machines of up to 1,000 tons clamping force, with
shot capacities of up to 240 ounces.
